At CHI, we’re investing in our physician enterprise because we know that our physicians, mid-level providers and medical practice staff are the heart of CHI and the high-quality care we provide to our patients. Our physician enterprise includes CHI’s employed physicians and non-physician providers, and currently makes up 20% of the medical staff providing care in our hospitals.
These highly talented medical professionals serve our communities, shape our approach to patient care and manage clinical functions. In short, they make it possible for us to sustain and grow our ministry of care.
Our ministry covers a diverse set of facilities and communities, including major regional medical centers; suburban hospitals, clinics and other outpatient centers; and critical access hospitals in rural locations. Several of our hospitals are sole providers of medical services in their areas.
It’s an exciting time for physicians at CHI. In partnership with our physicians, we are:
Building clinically integrated networks and preparing for population-based care
Enhancing a physician-led governance structure for our physician enterprise
We rely on our physicians to assure that patients receive personalized, high-quality care with clinical integrity and a constant pursuit of excellence. And, because CHI handles the business end of our physician enterprise – everything from budgeting to compliance – our physicians can truly focus on patient care.
For the cardiologists of Heart Clinic Arkansas, it was essential to join an employed physician enterprise that shared their vision of optimum cardiac care and physician leadership. Randy Jordan, MD, explains why Heart Clinic Arkansas chose CHI’s St. Vincent Health System, Little Rock.
