Grants for Building Healthy Communities
The Mission and Ministry Fund is a hallmark of Catholic Health Initiatives’ spirit of innovation and dedication to creating healthier communities. Since its inception in 1996, CHI has awarded 241 Mission and Ministry Fund grants totaling $29 million. The fund is one of the most visible ways Catholic Health Initiatives lives out the vision of our foundresses. (Click on image to left to access the full pdf version of the brochure.)
Purpose
The purpose of the Mission and Ministry Fund is to provide funding (up to three years) for planning, development and implementation of new initiatives to promote healthy communities. Grants are awarded annually for initiatives proposed by entities within the Catholic Health Initiatives family: individual facilities or groups of facilities within a market-based organization, participating congregations, national offices or other affiliated parties.
Rationale
The fund exists as a statement of Catholic Health Initiatives’ commitment to the creation of healthy communities and a tribute to the commitments of its founding congregations.
Funding
Grants may range from a few thousand dollars to more than $100,000, depending on the scope of the initiative.
