Alegent, Creighton Announce Name for New Partnership

Alegent Health, Omaha, NE, announced a name for its partnership with Creighton University – Alegent Creighton Health – through which Alegent will acquire Creighton University Medical Center. Alegent Creighton Health will also encompass an academic affiliation that will make Alegent hospitals the primary teaching sites for the schools of health sciences at Creighton University.
The new name was approved by the Alegent Health Board of Directors and filed with the State of Nebraska on Aug. 2. The filing marked the beginning of the last stage of the acquisition and affiliation process, which Alegent and Creighton are working toward finalizing by Sept. 1.
As part of the strategic affiliation, Creighton University’s physician practice, Creighton Medical Associates, will become part of Alegent Health Clinic. The new physician group will be named Alegent Creighton Clinic.
