Slayton Appointed Examiner for Baldrige National Quality Award

KentuckyOne Health will be represented on the Board of Examiners for the 2012 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality award, the highest level of national recognition for performance excellence that a U.S. organization can receive. Val Slayton, MD, vice president of medical informatics, has been appointed to the board by the U.S. Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology.
As an examiner, Slayton is responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications submitted for the award. The board is made up of approximately 500 leading experts selected from industry, professional and trade organizations, education and health care organizations, and nonprofits. Those selected meet the highest standards of qualification and peer recognition.
The Baldrige Award may be given annually in each of six categories: manufacturing, service, small business, education, health care and nonprofit. More information is available at the Baldrige Award website.
