Franciscan Hospice Receives Grant from Boeing Employees

Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care, part of Franciscan Health System, Tacoma, WA, received a $30,172 grant from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound. The grant will be used for two Verathon bladder scanners that will benefit hospice patients by preventing unnecessary catheterizations, which will decrease discomfort and any opportunity for medical complications. The scanners can also detect bladder obstructions, enabling improved clinical care planning and quality of life for hospice patients.
