Since 1999, the program has invested more than $25 million in the services and initiatives of 36 organizations in the United States and elsewhere.
Objective
The objective of the Direct Community Investment Program is to maximize social good while ensuring that the funds loaned are secure. Interest rates charged on these loans are below market and vary according to the circumstances of the recipient.
Funding
Catholic Health Initiatives is committed to providing two percent of its total operating investment program assets (currently more than $60 million) as direct community investments.

Applications are provided here, and may be submitted at any time. The social responsibility investment staff committee of Catholic Health Initiatives reviews applications once each quarter.
